Taking up the guitar at age 12, Jason knew from the start that he desired a career playing music. Drawing his inspiration largely from various shred guitarists, metal bands, and forms of classical music, he has always strived to push the limits of his playing while still keeping it very musical and dark. His musical philosophy aims to emotionally move the listener by means of powerful melodies and dynamics, using speed and flash to add intensity, rather than as the primary focus.
Having played previously with atmospheric metal band Rain Fell Within and progressive metal band Ephemeral Sun, Jason is currently the guitarist of the intensely atmospheric, ancient-world-metal band Todesbonden, and is founder, composer, and guitarist in his own band, Ol Sonuf.
Following the 2004 release of their EP "Stormbringer," Todesbonden performed several shows, playing with bands such as Therion, The Gathering, Thyrfing, Primordial, and Moonsorrow, and has headlined at Jaxx Concert Hall and Nightclub in Springfield, VA. In late 2007 they completed the recording of their debut LP "Sleep Now, Quiet Forest," featuring producer Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Daylight Dies, and more). The CD is expected to be released in Spring/Summer 2008 by Prophecy Productions. For additional info, audio samples, and more, please visit http://www.myspace.com/sleepnowquietforest
Ol Sonuf is also currently working on material for both a 5-song EP, entitled "Glass Idols," as well as an concept album LP entitled "While Rome Burns," based on the rise and fall of Nero and the Year of the Four Emperors. For samples of Ol Sonuf's music, please visit http://www.olsonuf.com.
In addition to Todesbonden and Ol Sonuf, Jason is also pursuing a career in the Film Scoring industry, and is currently working with Director Rob Stull on his series "Horror Creek Manor."
